Nostalgia & Sparklers

Every time I light a Sparkler, I feel like I’m 10 years old again. Memories of campfires, Halloween nights, and Summer’s spent on the Island.. all coming rushing back. Nostalgia at it’s finest. Little things like hearing a song on the radio, or smelling someones perfume.. those can sometimes be the most powerful jolts of memory that you will ever experience. It’s one of the neatest things. “When nothing else subsists from the past, after the people are dead, after the things are broken and scattered…the smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls…bearing resiliently, on tiny and almost impalpable drops of their essence, the immense edifice of memory”
Marcel Proust

“The times you lived through, the people you shared those times with — nothing brings it all to life like an old mix tape. It does a better job of storing up memories than actual brain tissue can do. Every mix tape tells a story. Put them together, and they can add up to the story of a life.”
Rob Sheffield, Love Is a Mix Tape
