When I was a little girl, I loved everything about camping. The smell of the campfire, the hot-dogs, the s’mores, and best of all being inside a TENT! The tent always felt like a secret little clubhouse that was just for me. I always felt invisible inside it, like I could do anything. I used to beg my Mom to let me set them up in the backyard, or even the basement (it rains a LOT in Vancouver). I would always end up getting scared around 3 am, and running back into the house haha. But STILL, it was a pretty serious thrill.
As I’ve gotten older the opportunity to go camping doesn’t really come up as often as I would like, and it’s something I really want to do more of. Especially in places like Tofino, and Banff. Also PS. I recently just watched a HORRIFYING movie called “Back- Country”, that I really don’t recommend any of you watch, if you ever plan to spend the night in the woods again. It’s about a bear attack, and it’s seriously so traumatizing, just don’t do it to yourself. Some things you really can’t un-see, you know what I mean?
Anyways, I was feeling nostalgic for the idea of “camping”, so I threw myself an “indoor camping” party. S’mores included! Also any chance to force people to listen to me reading “Lord of the Rings” out loud, is really just too good to pass up.
xo,
Carly.
