Goodbye 2016.

Annnnd Hello 2017!

As I’m writing this it’s currently January 3rd 2017!! I can’t believe 2016 has come and gone already, it feels like just yesterday I was lighting sparklers down on Sunset Beach screaming “Happy New Year” at the top of my lungs. I don’t remember if I made any Resolutions last year, I’m sure I didn’t keep any of them anyway haha.

2016 was a big year for me. So many great, exciting, wonderful & crazy moments..and some not so great ones as well. But today I’ll choose to focus on the positive things 2016 brought my way.

This year I felt like I did quite a bit of “Adulting”. (Adulting (v): to do grown up things and hold responsibilities such as, a 9-5 job, a mortgage/rent, a car payment, or anything else that makes one think of grown ups.) My boyfriend Ryan and I bought our very first apartment together last March, and moved in very soon after. It’s so exciting to own my own place, and be able to do anything I like to the place, like painting etc. I’ve been renting in Vancouver for the better part of the last 10 years, and it feels so great to finally have a place of our own, that’s all ours <3 It’s an adorable little one bedroom near the Burrard Bridge, and we couldn’t be more in love with it. I love this location in the city, and I’m so happy to be only a block away from one of my favorite places in Vancouver.. the beach!

Ryan and I also welcomed a brand new baby Nephew into our family, and he is the most perfect little baby boy ever. It’s so exciting to see the family growing year by year, and I can’t wait until a year from now, to see how much our two Nephew’s have changed.

Over the past year, I really wanted to challenge myself to read more books, to Blog more, to shoot more, to travel more, and just to be more creative overall. I have had so much fun this year creating content, writing blogs, wandering around forests taking photos, obsessing over books (and taking probably WAY too many photos of them), and just meeting and chatting with so many new incredible like minded people online. Thank you so much to everyone who reads my Blog, checks out my Instagram, and trusts me enough to hire me to photograph their special moments. You guys are all so amazing, and every day I feel more and more inspired to do so many different types of things.

I have so many fun ideas for the upcoming Blog posts this year, so stay tuned <3

I will be participating in a 2017 Reading Challenge.. Which means I will be reading a grand total of 52 books, one book a week.. all of different types/genres. It’s so much fun, and I can’t wait to try out some genres that I would normally shy away from. First up for Week #1/Challenge 1.. is to “Read a Book you Read in High-School/For School”, and I’ve chosen “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. I will be posting every month, about all 4 Books I read for the Challenges that month, as well as the assorted other random ones I chose to read. In addition to monthly Reading Wrap Up’s, I will be also be posting more fashion, beauty & lifestyle posts as well.

Thanks for Reading, Happy New Year Everyone,

xo.

Carly.
