Hidden Areas in the City.

“There’s something about arriving in new cities, wandering empty streets with no destination. I will never lose the love for the arriving, but I’m born to leave.”

I can’t even tell you how many gorgeous alley-ways, hidden streets, view-points of landmarks, and amazing backdrops I have just randomly found while out getting groceries or something. I’m always looking for new places to take my photography clients, when we do head-shots or family photos.. and this way I’ve always got a little go-to list for some great spots to try out. That way I don’t feel like I’m recycling the same scenery, shoot after shoot.

For a while I’ve been seeing this multi-colored pastel painted alley-way, all over my Instagram feed. It seems like everyone has checked out this alleyway except for me haha! Last week I was with my Sister, and before we went to dinner Downtown, the two of us busted out the GoogleMaps and decided we were going to find this alley, and get some cool shots in it! We were successful, and it was even more amazing to see it in person. It’s such a nice bright spot, in an otherwise boring looking part of the city. I’m a huge fan, and I can’t wait to take some clients there soon.

Here are some photos of our Gastown & Pastel Alleyway adventure,

xo.
