Why Hello Gang,
I don’t even feel like this post needs a long prologue. You guys already know all about my raging Wes Anderson obsession! Every single thing Wes Anderson has been involved in, has not only been INCREDIBLE.. but it has also driven me crazy/ wild with artistic inspiration. I can’t even tell you how the pastels, the stunning cinematography, the art direction, the screenplay.. and literally ALL of it just utterly consumes me. In the best, most inspiring, most pastel & insane way ever.

“When you’re 11 or 12 years old, you can get so swept up in a book that you start to believe that the fantasy is reality. I think when you have a giant crush when you’re in fifth grade, it becomes your whole world. It’s like being underwater; everything is different”- Wes Anderson
I feel like my Summer was an un-intentional homage to our boy Wes, and I just found myself drawn to everything pastel. It was a beautiful, unforgettable, and perfect Summer. I hope you are all doing ok too. I can’t wait to tell you all about the fantastic books I read this Summer! Until then, here are some snapshots from my little candy colored Summer.
“I didn’t think so much of him at first. But now I get it: he’s everything that I’m not.”
― Wes Anderson, The Royal Tenenbaums
“What happened to your hand?
It got hit by a mirror.
How’d that happen?
I lost my temper at myself.”
― Wes Anderson, Moonrise Kingdom

“Horror is an area where if a filmmaker really wants to use all the tricks, the techniques to affect your emotions … with the kind of movies I do, you’re supposed to say ‘is this part supposed to be funny, or is this part supposed to be sad?’ Well, you say, ‘I don’t know. I’m not sure.’ This is the way we wanted it. When you make a horror or a thriller, you say, ‘You’re supposed to be scared here. You’re supposed to be relieved here. Here we’re explaining something so you know the next part so you’ll be more scared then.’ I like the idea of the requirements and the obligations of working in a genre like that.”- Wes Anderson
