Hi Guys,
I can’t believe Julia and Andy’s Wedding weekend has come and gone already! It felt like a blur.. an amazing, perfect blur. Last weekend was basically the weekend of Andy and Julia. We had so many fun Wedding Festivities to attend, especially since I was in the Wedding Party as well. On Thursday we had a Wedding Rehearsal Ceremony Run-Through, at the Capilano Golf and Country Club (where the Wedding was taking place on Saturday). It was so much fun, and we got to practice our “walking-down-the-aisle” walks, and we also got to watch Julia and Andy practice their vows.. which was SO cute. Watching her Dad practice walking her down the aisle, almost made us all cry!
After the Run-Through, we all drove to an Italian restaurant at Park Royal, for the Rehearsal Dinner. Ryan was invited to this as well, and it was such a beautiful event. They rented out the entire top patio, and these beautiful long tables had been set up for us. The dinner was fantastic, served family style.. and we all ate so much we could barely walk. So many incredible types of pasta, prawns, salads.. and hands down the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had (these little icing covered mini donuts, filled with chocolate).
It was really nice to see all of our friends, and to meet all of Julia and Andy’s extended family, that I hadn’t met before. This event really got the excitement for the Wedding rolling, and everyone was in such good spirits.
The next morning, I headed to West Vancouver, to meet the girls at Cutie Pie Wax Salon/ The Nail Spot. Me, and the other Bridesmaid Lindsey, as well as Julia’s Sister (and Matron of Honor) Allison.. and Julia’s Mom Heather.. we all gathered in these huge chairs, and had a mani-pedi party, while drinking sparkling pink lemonade and watching Wedding Crashers on the T.V. It was so much fun. I felt so lucky to be a part of such an amazing day.
After the nails, Julia Lindsey and I all headed back to Julia’s house in North Vancouver, to drop off all our stuff for our “Night Before the Wedding Sleepover”. We had a short window to unpack, and change into our workout gear, because Julia and Andy had rented out Salted Cycle, for a private pre-wedding Spin Class.. with a bunch of their family and friends! Also Andy surprised everyone with custom made T-Shirts, with their very clever wedding hashtag “2 Become Wong” printed on them. I was a bit nervous, because I’m not very athletic, and I’m really bad at spin class haha. There was no need to be nervous because it ended up being one of the most fun evenings of my entire life! We all had such a good time cycling in the dark, with the booming music of Andy’s playlist. Ending the class on Britney Spears’s “Work Bitch” was a real hi-light.
After the spin class, we all headed down to the North Vancouver Shipyards Market. It was insanely busy, but we got some delicious Food Truck treats, and found a nice sunny spot on the pier to sit and hang out. Then Julia, Lindsey and I went back to her place to get into our pj’s and watch some Gilmore Girls “Wedding Episodes”. We were all so nervous about the next morning.. the WEDDING was in less than 24 hours! I don’t know how we manged to fall asleep but we did.. and at 7:30 am my alarm went off.. and it was the WEDDING DAY!
Part 2 Coming Next…
