When In Mexico…

Hi Guys!

If you guys have been following my Blog for over a year or so, you will probably remember my previous Blog post titled “Mexico Adventures: Week 2: Bucerías”. Well oddly enough, almost EXACTLY a year to the date.. My Dad, Sister & my Fiancé and I.. all went back to Bucerías, Nayarit! We actually even stayed in the same stunning condo, that we rented out last year! Let me tell you, after last year’s trip.. I didn’t think anything could ever top it.. until now. We had SUCH an incredible time, I’m so sad to be home!

The condo we rented, in right in the middle of Bucerías, Nayarit, right on the edge of the ocean. The view from the deck, is honestly breathtaking. I’ve never seen anything like it. The little neighborhood we were in, is so quaint and gorgeous. The fact we had been to the exact same place last year, was a HUGE advantage! We knew all the best places to go for dinner and drinks, and it was such a comforting feeling to hit up all the spots we loved so much last year. It was like coming home to a place you already know so well. Just in case any of you guys are heading to Puerto Vallarta anytime soon, and you want to check out Bucerías.. I will make you a mini-list of all our TOP spots!

Breakfast/Lunch in Bucerías

1.) Los Pericos Restaurant Bar Cafe: This place was right around the corner from our condo, and became a fast favorite of ours. It’s the most adorable little place, nestled right on a cobble-stoned street. They have amazing Mimosas & home-made hot sauce, that is to DIE for. My fav things on the menu are 100% the Waffles & the Huevos Rancheros!

2.) Paninos: OMG this place was incredible! We discovered this place on the last day of our trip, which was so sad, because we wanted to try EVERYTHING on the menu! It had a very “Bread-Garden” type vibe.. and there was tons and tons of fresh pastries & things to-go as well! The breakfast was fantastic, and the SANDWICHES were out of this world. Ryan said the BLT he ordered, was the best BLT he’s ever had in his life. You guys HAVE to go here, if you are ever in Bucerías!

Dinner/Drinks in Bucerías

1.) Toscana Mia: This place is hands-down the most incredible Italian food I have ever had. I’ve been to so many amazing Italian places in Vancouver & Europe.. but you guys.. Toscana Mia absolutely killed it. They hand-make their fresh pasta, and pizzas.. Ohmygod it’s making my stomach growl thinking about it. First off, it’s the cutest most aesthetically-pleasing place I’ve ever been. The Bruschetta  that they bring every table before the meal.. is AMAZING. Ryan and I always share the feature pasta & the pizzas (I love the Diavolo one the best!). We went back here a few repeat times, because it was that amazing.

2.) Sukha Beach House: Lunch, Dinner, Drinks: THIS place was 10/10. We discovered this gem, once again too late in our trip. We went here for dinner on our second-to-last night, and we were all so blown away.. that we went back the following day for lunch! Not only do they have an amazing “2-for-1” Cocktail list, but also the FOOD.. oh my GOD the food. Everything was amazing. The shrimp tacos, the Jumbo Shrimp, the chicken fajitas… etc etc etc. I can’t tell you how amazing it was. Not to mention the free chips & salsa every table gets.. Which also comes with home-made hot-sauce & home-made Guacamole! After dinner, we all walked home on the beach, with the waves lapping at our feet.. it was like out of a movie. BEST spot, and the best evening of the trip for sure. (Also PS. This place is literally Instagram-Heaven. They have hammocks, and swings.. all facing the ocean.. and just trust me.. you will need like 30 minutes just to take photos)

3.) The Drunken Duck: This is an incredible local spot, for live-music, drinks and authentic BBQ. We had WAY too much fun at the Duck last year… and I wasn’t sure we could get as wild this time. I was wrong of course! My Sister Paige was up dancing on the bar, living out all of our Coyote Ugly fantasies & we had such a wild night. This place is fantastic, and a major local fav. I haven’t actually tried any of the BBQ, but Ryan said the BBQ Chicken Sandwich was amazing!

There are also a ton of outdoor shopping markets, and amazing massage tents all over the beach! Tons of great spots for photos, including an adorable little kissing-bridge! Also there are horses to ride on the beach, and more hot-sauce shops that you could ever imagine. So next time you are in Puerto Vallarta, don’t overlook the small little beach town of Bucerías. I really hope we get another chance to come back again. I NEED more of those Jumbo Shrimp from Sukah!
